Syr Supplemental (prophylactic) dose Equiv to RDA: 10-15 mg daily.
Childn 7-12 yr 2.5 mL,
2-6 yr 2.5 mL, to be taken once daily.
Therapeutic dose 3 mg/kg/day in 3-4 divided doses for approx 4-6 mth to reverse uncomplicated Fe deficiency anemia.
Childn 7-12 yr 5 mL,
2-6 yr 2.5 mL, to be taken tid.
Oral drops Supplemental dose Term infant 1 mg/kg/day. Max: 15 mg/day. To start no later than 4 mth of age & to continue at least through the remainder of the 1st yr of life.
Preterm infant 2 mg/kg/day. Max: 15 mg/day. To start no later than 2 mth of age & to continue at least through the remainder of the 1st yr of life.
